Establishment of the Unit

Faculty of Education at Sohag initiated the establishment of the Quality Assurance Unit in 2007. The Unit’s Board launched a project to create an internal quality system for the Faculty by drafting internal regulations that aligned with those of the University’s Quality Assurance Center, as well as with the Faculty’s mission and the University’s strategy regarding quality assurance and accreditation readiness. Pursuant to the Faculty Council’s Resolution No. 221, dated July 8, 2007, the Unit was officially approved as an administrative entity responsible for monitoring and evaluating all quality and continuous improvement activities within the Faculty.

Unit Vision and Mission

Vision

The Faculty’s Quality Assurance and Accreditation Unit aspires to develop and enhance performance, aiming to achieve a distinguished local and regional standing in teaching, scientific research, and community service, ultimately leading to the Faculty obtaining academic accreditation.

Implementing the standards of the National Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation of Education regarding institutional capacity and educational effectiveness at the Faculty, thereby ensuring that the Faculty meets all requirements for obtaining academic and institutional quality and accreditation certification

Objectives

  • Evaluate the level of performance within the faculty.
  • Monitor quality and accreditation activities within the faculty.
  •  Encourage the staff members to enhance the quality of their work.
  • Provide support and assistance to all faculty staff in implementing quality standards.
  • Coordinate with relevant entities to organize training courses for the staff members.
  •  Arrange visits by experts and external reviewers to monitor the college’s programs, plans, and courses.
  • Proposing plans and programs to enhance the quality of operations.
  •  Preparing the faculty’s strategic plan, derived from the university’s strategic plan.
  • Developing and updating the faculty programs to align with international and accreditation standards.

Administrative Structure

Unit Functions

  •  Utilizing and implementing the tools, mechanisms, and programs designed by the University’s Quality Assurance Center to evaluate performance and ensure quality—covering both academic and institutional aspects—within the faculty, in accordance with national accreditation standards.
  •  Implementing the University’s quality strategy at the faculty level, as well as directives issued by the University’s Quality Assurance Center in this regard.
  •  Establishing an integrated information system for performance evaluation and internal quality assurance.
  • Monitoring performance evaluation and quality assurance activities across the various academic and administrative departments.
  •  Analyzing the results of performance evaluation and quality assurance activities and submitting periodic reports to the University’s Quality Assurance Center
  • Providing awareness, training, guidelines, and advisory services to the faculty’s various academic departments regarding quality assurance and accreditation.
  •  Collaborating with all academic departments and relevant administrative units within the faculty to prepare and ready the faculty for accreditation.
  •  Preparing the faculty’s annual report on performance evaluation and quality assurance, obtaining approval from the Dean, and submitting it to the University’s Quality Assurance Center.
  •  Establishing strong, direct relationships with the external community served by the faculty, as well as with all entities concerned with performance evaluation and quality assurance, through the University’s Quality Assurance and Accreditation Center.
  • Conducting extensive outreach activities within the faculty and the community to embed the concepts of performance evaluation and continuous improvement.
