Vision
The Professional Development Unit at the Faculty of Education in Sohag aspires for women to be active partners in community development. It aims to contribute to creating a society free from all forms of violence against women a society that guarantees dignity, justice, equal opportunities, and a safe life for women and girls.
Mission
The Unit for Combating Violence Against Women strives to protect women and foster an educational environment where female students are valued and respected, and enjoy equal rights and responsibilities. It also aims to empower female students, the staff members, and staff through awareness-raising, support, policies, and community partnerships, while working to curb all forms of gender-based violence and ensure a safe, supportive environment that upholds women’s rights and dignity.:
Target audience for the Unit for Combating Violence Against Women:
- Male and female students of Faculty of Education.
- Male and female staff members.
- Administrative staff and employees of the Faculty.
Organizational structure of the Unit:
The Unit’s organizational structure comprises:
- The Dean of the Faculty.
- The Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Affairs.
- Director of the Unit for Combating Violence Against Women.
- Faculty member from the Department of Mental Health or Psychology.
- Three assistant staff members.
- A team from the Student Union.
