Vision
The Professional Development Unit at Faculty of Education in Sohag aspires to be a leading entity in enhancing and developing the performance of all teachers and professionals in the nation’s educational sector. It aims to achieve this through a well-planned professional development strategy that elevates their professional capabilities in line with modern global trends, thereby ensuring performance improvement and the enhancement of the educational process in accordance with the requirements of human development, quality assurance, and educational accreditation.
Mission
The Professional Development Unit strives to cultivate an educated, committed generation capable of navigating the evolving demands of the modern era. It emphasizes enhancing the professional competencies of teachers and educational personnel to meet the requirements of the contemporary school environment. The Unit is committed to realizing the vision and mission of the Professional Academy for Teachers through its various projects and training programs. Furthermore, it seeks to forge effective partnerships with other faculties and the local community through training initiatives that benefit the educational environment and ensure quality assurance and educational accreditation.
Unit Objectives
The Unit aims to:
- Achieve continuous professional development for teachers and educational personnel to enhance their professional performance.
- Update and expand teachers’ knowledge and expertise, keeping them informed of the latest developments in educational and instructional technologies.
- – Enable teachers and staff to stay abreast of the latest educational, instructional, and psychological theories in the field of education.
- Assist teachers and staff in mastering active learning strategies, self-learning skills, and scientific thinking through the projects and training programs offered by the Unit.
- The Unit implements new policies and programs introduced by the Professional Academy for Teachers and the Ministry of Education.
- The Unit strives for continuous development and improvement of the professional and performance skills of participants in the programs it offers.
