This unit is responsible for guiding and monitoring students throughout their studies by providing counsel and advice, helping them adapt to university life, and fostering an understanding of the faculty’s mission and objectives through ongoing dialogue. The unit also strives to create an environment that enables students to discover their aptitudes and capabilities in ways that support their academic goals.

Mission
The Academic Advising Unit provides a range of services designed to meet all student needs, leveraging the expertise of the staff members to guide students in academic matters such as selecting a specialization and offering suggestions and advice to enhance their academic performance and help them successfully complete their coursework. The Unit also identifies and works to overcome obstacles hindering academic achievement and fosters students’ ability to engage effectively with the demands of university life by raising awareness of the academic responsibilities essential to realizing their educational goals.
Unit Objectives
- Create an environment conducive to the healthy development of students and foster positive social relationships with peers, and the staff members
- Prepare new students for the university life through orientation and guidance programs that introduce the faculty, its deanship, and support departments, while explaining how to access their services.
- Motivate high-achieving students to excel further and guide them to utilize their abilities and potential in areas that align with their academic interests and inclinations
- Monitoring students facing academic difficulties and assisting them in acquiring the skills necessary to improve their academic performance.
- Raising student awareness regarding academic regulations and educational processes, and tracking their progress throughout their years of study.

Organizational Structure
Academic Advising Unit Responsibilities
1. Announcing regulations, rules, instructions, and procedures governing studies and examinations.
2. Managing academic student affairs, including attendance, specialization selection, and transfers between specializations.
3. Submitting periodic reports on the status of students who have received academic warnings.
4. Reviewing the study plans of students nearing graduation to ensure compliance with regulations and policies.
Submitting an annual report from the Academic Advising Unit to the faculty Deanship regarding the unit’s workflow and achievements during the academic year.
