Research leadership and outstanding competitiveness.
Mission
To provide publishing services for distinguished scientific research, ensuring adherence to global standards and enabling students and researchers to gain exceptional research experience within a stimulating and supportive environment. Unit Functions and Objectives.
* Providing the necessary technical support to the staff members and researchers applying to scientific committees for promotion to the ranks of Professor and Assistant Professor, specifically regarding plagiarism.
* Exercising full oversight over the affairs of scientific journals published by the staff and its various departments, most notably the “Educational Journal of Faculty of Education” (Online: ISSN 2536-9091; Print: ISSN 1687-2649).
- Working to raise the Arab Impact Factor of the Faculty’s Educational Journal, aiming for an outstanding academic rating and a strong impact factor that facilitates international reach.
- Organizing scientific conferences, training courses, and workshops in the fields of scientific research, with the aim of fulfilling the Unit’s mission to disseminate outstanding scientific research that befits the stature of the faculty and its esteemed staff.
- Establishing a website and a Facebook page to communicate with the staff members and researchers in the fields of postgraduate studies and scientific research, serving as a distinguished platform and showcase for the faculty and its research and publishing activities.
- Conducting scientific publishing in accordance with rigorous international standards, and providing an online outlet for scientific publication and the marketing of research outputs.
- Drafting and issuing an annual bulletin on proposed educational policies and working to convey them to educational decision-makers.
- Organizing and holding the annual conference of the Faculty of Education at Sohag University, with an issue of the journal dedicated to publishing the conference proceedings.
- Contributing to building and enhancing research capabilities within the faculty
Objectives
- To publish specialized, peer-reviewed scientific journals periodically in both Arabic and English.
- To contribute to realizing the mission of the university and the faculty by developing the research capabilities of graduate students and training them in scientific research methods and techniques.
- To encourage the conduct of scientific projects and research aimed at solving real-world problems facing the educational system.
- Publishing research submitted by the researchers from universities, institutes, and various educational institutions, while dedicating a section in the journals to publishing abstracts of academic theses awarded by the staff.
- Encouraging the staff members and their assistants to engage in innovation and scientific research.
- Overseeing all journals issued by the staff—regarding format, layout, and scientific content—in accordance with the latest international standards.
- Striving to secure distinguished ratings and strong impact factors for the scientific journals issued by the Faculty’s departments, thereby ensuring widespread reach and positioning them among globally ranked scientific journals.
- Encouraging the Faculty’s departments to launch specialized journals and overseeing them according to a specific system (niche/specialized journals)
- Encouraging international publication and applying global standards for scientific publishing in the production and dissemination of journals.
- Providing translation services in the fields of education, literature, and the humanities.
- Providing statistical analysis services for various research projects.
- Organizing training courses and workshops in translation, scientific publishing, and skill development for postgraduate researchers.
- Providing editing and linguistic review services in Arabic and foreign languages.
- Fostering continuous professional development for lecturers and professionals in the educational sector to enhance their professional performance.
- Updating and expanding teachers’ knowledge and keeping them informed of the latest developments in educational and instructional technologies.
- Enabling the lecturers and staff to access the latest educational, instructional, and psychological theories in the field
- Assisting practicing lecturers in acquiring active learning strategies, self-learning skills, and scientific thinking skills through the projects and training programs offered by the Unit.
- The Unit implements new policies and programs introduced by the Professional Academy for Teachers and the Ministry of Education.
- The Unit strives for continuous development and improvement of the professional and performance skills of participants in its programs.
- The Unit actively contributes to achieving quality assurance and educational accreditation standards for schools through its programs and by adhering to national standards for pre-university education.
