Vision and Mission

Vision

The Postgraduate Studies Department strives to be a distinguished department in providing the best services to researchers and faculty members in the field of postgraduate studies, in alignment with quality and accreditation standards

To provide superior service to all stakeholders involved in postgraduate studies—including researchers and the staff members—by facilitating scientific conferences, seminars, and workshops, and by overseeing thesis defense sessions organized by various departments. The administration manages researcher data and monitors academic progress through reports processed via modern technological systems (specifically the MIS software), operated by a team of trained and qualified staff. Responsibilities also include scheduling examinations for all students in accordance with dates set by the faculty Council throughout the academic year, as well as managing fee collection, monitoring enrollment periods and registration status, and organizing thesis defense committees.

Objectives

Motivate staff to work diligently and ensure they are trained in the latest technologies relevant to the digital age; market postgraduate programs and highlight their benefits to boost enrollment; attract students from both Arab and non-Arab countries to these programs and remove any obstacles they may face, thereby benefiting society; and link the postgraduate studies administration with the central general administration for postgraduate studies to ensure visibility regarding all decisions made within this sector

Establishment of the Postgraduate Studies Department

Postgraduate studies at the faculty commenced in the 1975–1976 academic year, initially offering the first and second levels of the Special Diploma in Education, alongside registration for Master’s and Doctoral degrees. In the 1982–1983 academic year, the faculty introduced the two-year General Diploma in Education program. Following the issuance of regulations on July 26, 1995, the faculty’s offerings expanded to include the one-year General Diploma in Education and the Professional Diploma in Education, in addition to the previously established postgraduate diplomas and programs. Subsequently, the current regulations (based on the credit-hour system) were adopted under which the faculty currently operates pursuant to Ministerial Decree No. 815 dated March 1, 2021. This decree provided for the launch of numerous diploma programs and the introduction of a wide range of specializations at both the master’s and doctoral levels, thereby meeting the needs of Egyptian and Arab society
