Library Establishment Date
- Faculty of Education Library was established in 1971.
- Faculty of Education Library at Sohag University is a long-standing institution housing thousands of books and scientific periodicals, as well as a collection of master’s and doctoral theses. As a library specializing in the field of education, it serves staff members, students, and researchers by organizing, classifying, and cataloguing information resources including books, periodicals, and reference materials—to facilitate access and support their academic studies

Vision
The library aspires to achieve excellence and leadership in the field, foster intellectual engagement within the community, and attain the status of a leading academic library by providing outstanding information resources and services.
Mission
To provide a comprehensive range of high-quality information resources for academic education and to continue supporting educational and research needs at both local and international levels by collecting, organizing, and arranging information resources and facilitating access to them.
Library Objectives
- Building and developing information collections to ensure the availability of the necessary and appropriate information resources for the faculty community to carry out its research, study, and learning activities.
- Organizing these collections—including classification, cataloging, and other processes to ensure their proper management, preservation, analysis, indexing, and maintenance.
- Providing reference and information retrieval services, including professional library guidance and assistance to library users, directing them on how to make optimal use of the available collections
- Collaborating and coordinating with other libraries both within and outside the university to access information resources essential for patrons, and participating in local, regional, and international information networks.
- Equipping students and researchers with fundamental library literacy to enable them to make optimal use of the library’s holdings and information resources.
- Developing library operations and enhancing performance in the areas of professional functions, information services, and documentation
