We announce that a new round of Institutional Links funding call under the Newton Mosharafa Fund is now available for application in the field of Cultural Heritage. Unlike other Newton Mosharafa calls this one has specific focus on Archaeology and Cultural Heritage only.
Cultural Heritage Institutional Links offers grants of up to £300,000 to set up joint partnership between institutions in Egypt and the UK for up to 2 years in the field of Archaeology and Cultural Heritage.
The Newton Mosharafa Fund invites proposals that help develop new solutions to support the protection and presentation of Egypt’s cultural heritage, and build the human and institutional capacity of Egypt’s heritage sector with focus on:
o Heritage management, including how to present heritage in innovative and appealing ways
o Heritage protection and conservation
o Scientific research and interpretation
Research will form the key part of the partnership. But we would also encourage applications that take a broader approach to how capacity in the Egyptian heritage sector can be built/ advanced, eg through professional development training for site managers. Therefore, we encourage universities/research centres from both countries to apply in partnership with museums and/or heritage sites.
Please note that this call is not in partnership with the Science and Technology Development Fund (STDF) and hence it is not co-funded in country; Egyptian applicants will need to provide evidence of matched funding contributions. These contributions can be in-kind or cash.
Deadline: 19 September 2016 16:00 UK time.
