Department of Educational Psychology
The Department of Psychology is one of the educational departments that provides the students with what qualifies them to face problems and pressures, whether inside the school in dealing with students, or even outside the school.
The Department of Educational Psychology aims to qualify a scientific cadre in the field of educational psychology, as well as keep pace with scientific and technical development.
The courses aim to prepare students to deal with different groups from children to adults.
In conclusion, the head of the Department, the faculty members and the supporting staff extend their sincere appreciation to the administration of the Faculty of Education, Sohag University, represented in its leadership, Prof/ Khaled Abdel Latif Omran for his effort in order to advance the department and achieve its mission.

The Mission
Effective contribution to the professional and psychological preparation of student teachers and graduate students. Preparing generations of specialized researchers who are capable of applied scientific research in various fields of educational psychology, and providing psychological and educational services and counseling to students and members of the local community, and educational institutions in the governmental and private sectors that meet their needs.
Department Goals
Providing the student with concepts, knowledge and skills related to the main fields of psychology, its history, and contemporary trends.
Preparing a psychology student who is able to communicate with his students.
Introducing the student to the nature of the human psyche and its dynamics in terms of cognitive, behavioral and physiological aspects
Providing the student with the basic skills for preparing and applying achievement tests and psychological measures and using them in diagnosing learning problems.
Developing information and communication technology skills and use them in the field of psychology.
