University President Honors the Faculty of Education in the “Best College in Community Service and Environmental Development” Competition at Sohag University
Professor Dr. Hassan Al-Noumani, President of Sohag University, honored the winning colleges in the competition for the “Best College in Community Service and Environmental Development Activities,” based on each college’s evaluation scores according to set criteria. These criteria reflect the university’s commitment to sustainable development and encourage colleges to become eco-friendly institutions. This initiative aligns with Egypt’s national efforts toward a green economy and comprehensive development.
Dr. Al-Noumani congratulated the winning colleges, emphasizing the importance of such competitions in motivating and activating community and environmental work, as well as enhancing positive competition for excellence. Nursing College won first place, followed by the Faculty of Science in second place, the Faculty of Education in third, the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in fourth, and the Faculty of Medicine in fifth place.
Dr. Khaled Omran, Vice President of Sohag University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, stated that the recognition of winning colleges by the University President aims to inspire all faculty members, fostering an environment of positive and effective competition, which contributes to enhancing the quality of services provided. He added that the competition covered various evaluation criteria, including the organization of awareness seminars (environmental, health, recreational), workshops, and training courses for students, as well as camps, exhibitions, studies, and consultations provided to institutions and civil society. Additionally, it considered the organization of free convoys, performance in the literacy and adult education project, safety and crisis management activities, and the colleges’ roles in identifying community issues and their activities with organizations involved in community service and environmental development.
