<\/i><\/span><\/i><\/span>A word from the Vice Dean for Graduate Studies and Research<\/span><\/i><\/div>

\"\"<\/a><\/p>

Scientific research is one of the three most important main functions of universities in the current era, and therefore it is one of the basic pillars that universities rely on to achieve their mission, as it contains the cream of innovative minds. Believing in this fact, the Graduate Studies and Research Sector at the Faculty of Education, Sohag University aims to advance scientific research, believing in the role of scientific research in societal development. <\/span><\/strong>
Postgraduate studies at the Faculty of Education, Sohag University, began in 1975\/1976, starting with the first and second years of the special diploma in education. Registration for the master\u2019s and doctoral degrees also began in the same year. Then, the faculty opened the general diploma in education, two-year system, in 1982\/1983. With the issuance of the faculty\u2019s regulations on 7\/26\/1995, the faculty now includes the general diploma in education, one-year system, and the professional diploma in education, in addition to the diplomas and postgraduate studies that were previously opened at the faculty. Then, the current regulations that the faculty is working with until now were issued by Ministerial Resolution No. (407) on 3\/9\/2008. <\/span><\/strong>
With the issuance of Ministerial Resolution No. (115) dated 3\/1\/2021 regarding the issuance of the internal regulations of the Faculty of Education, Sohag University (postgraduate stage) with the credit hour system, then these regulations were applied in the current academic year 2021\/2022 AD, and these regulations are an achievement of the college in 2020\/2021 AD, and they are among the first regulations with the credit hour system in Upper Egypt. <\/span><\/strong>
Article (40) of these regulations stipulated that: The Faculty of Education, Sohag University, is a postgraduate program to grant general diploma degrees in education in its two systems, the professional diploma in education, the special diploma in education, the master’s degree in education and the doctorate of philosophy in education, in accordance with the credit hour system, and the study and examination system and the grades of success and failure are determined in accordance with the provisions of these regulations.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>

Article (41) of these regulations also indicated that: Sohag University shall grant, upon the request of the Faculty of Education, the following academic degrees at the postgraduate level: – <\/span><\/strong>
General Diploma in Education. <\/span><\/strong>
– Professional Diploma in Education in the following specializations:<\/span><\/strong>
– School Planning and Excellence. <\/span><\/strong>
– Computer and Information Technology Education. <\/span><\/strong>
– School Psychologist. <\/span><\/strong>
– E-Learning. <\/span><\/strong>
– Educational Evaluation. <\/span><\/strong>
– Performance Quality and Excellence Management for Educational Institutions. <\/span><\/strong>
– Psychological Counseling. <\/span><\/strong>
– Educational and School Administration. <\/span><\/strong>
– Islamic Education. <\/span><\/strong>
– Child Education. <\/span><\/strong>
– Literacy and Adult Education. <\/span><\/strong>
– Special Education. <\/span><\/strong>
– Talented Excellence Teacher. <\/span><\/strong>
– Curriculum Planning and Development. <\/span><\/strong>
– Special Education Curricula and Teaching Methods.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>

\u2022 Special Diploma in Education in the following specializations:<\/span><\/strong>
– Fundamentals of Education, Comparative Education and Educational Administration. <\/span><\/strong>
– Curricula, Teaching Methods and Educational Technology. <\/span><\/strong>
– Educational Psychology and Mental Health. <\/span><\/strong>
\u2022 Master\u2019s Degree in Education from one of the scientific departments of the college. <\/span><\/strong>
\u2022 Doctorate of Philosophy in Education from one of the scientific departments of the college.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>

Regarding the new programs with fees, this regulation indicated in Article (42) that: The Faculty of Education, Sohag University, offers distinguished programs with fees for the professional diploma in education in the following specializations: Professional Diploma in Education, specializing in \u201cEducational Policy\u201d, Professional Diploma in Education, specializing in \u201cQuality and Educational Reform\u201d, and Professional Diploma in Education, specializing in \u201cEducational Media\u201d, in accordance with the regulations attached to each program. <\/span><\/strong>
Our prestigious faculty has three refereed scientific journals: the Educational Journal of the Faculty of Education, Sohag University, the Journal of Young Researchers in Educational Sciences of the Faculty of Education, Sohag University, and the Sohag University International Journal of Educational Research. These journals have ranked first among Egyptian universities (7) according to the classification of the Supreme Council of Egyptian Universities.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>
