The Curriculum and Teaching Methods Department
Vision & Mission
The Department of Curricula and Teaching Methods is one of the main departments in the Faculty of Education in Sohag, which was established in 1971. It includes 63 members of the teaching staff and the supporting staff from professors, assistant professors, lecturers, and demonstrators.
The members of the department are classified into twelve specializations: methods of teaching Arabic, methods of teaching English, methods of teaching French, methods of teaching social studies, methods of teaching psychology, methods of teaching science, methods of teaching mathematics, methods of teaching business sciences, methods of teaching childhood, methods of teaching home economics, methods of teaching art education, methods of teaching music and methods of teaching physical education.
The department supervises the Office of Practical Education, which students are trained through practical education courses in the third and fourth year in a large number of secondary, preparatory, and primary schools, kindergartens and special education schools.

The Department of Curricula and Teaching Methods aspires to the forefront among the curricula departments in the colleges of education through its leadership in achieving educational preparation for student teachers and researchers in the field of curricula and teaching methods in the light of quality standards.
The Department of Curricula and Teaching Methods is committed to achieving educational preparation for student teachers and researchers in the field of curricula and teaching methods in their various fields of specialization in the light of quality standards, in a way that contributes to the advancement of the educational process at the local and regional levels.
The Curriculum and Teaching Methods Department at Sohag University aims to:
Familiarize the students with the types of curricula for the different educational stages, and how to plan and develop them.
Training students on different teaching skills.
