The Department of Pedagogy
The Department of pedagogy “ethics and moral” is one of the scientific departments at the Faculty of Education – Sohag University. This Department was established in 1971, and the department includes (Professor – Assistant Professor – lecturer), and it also includes assistant staff (assistant professors – demonstrators)
The Department of Pedagogy “ethics and moral” is specialized in qualifying the student through a set of courses that enrich the aspect of educational and professional preparation for the teacher.
The Department of pedagogy “ethics and moral” in the college also seeks to enrich educational knowledge of faculty members represented in scientific theses, educational research, intellectual literature, in addition to holding conferences, scientific seminars, training courses and workshops that serve the educational process.

The Mission
Effective contribution to the professional and psychological preparation of student teachers and graduate students. Preparing generations of specialized researchers who are capable of applied scientific research in various fields of educational psychology, and providing psychological and educational services and counseling to students and members of the local community, and educational institutions in the governmental and private sectors that meet their needs.
The Goals
The department participates in the professional educational preparation of teachers at the College of Education, the Department aims to:
The students should know:
1- Research methods in education and the difficulties that researchers face.
2- The relationship between education in any society and factors affecting it.
3- The legislation regulating of the teacher’s performance in the teaching profession.
4- Human rights in Egypt and some developed countries.
5- Familiarity with the foundations of organizing the administrative work inside the school.
6- Developing the student’s awareness of the concepts and educational intellectual foundations.
7- Developing the abilities of students to understand contemporary educational/administrative trends.
8- The student’s awareness of the role of educational research and educational administrative research in developing societies and solving the problems.
9- Empowering the student with the techniques and methods of comparative educational research and educational administrative research.
